What our participants have to say…

I want to thank you again for such a great race day.  The volunteers were just fantastic, at the water stations, the turnaround point and the police officers, and just everyone else.  Everyone was so friendly.  I also think the medal to be one of the nicest ones I have.  Also need to say thank the race packet pick up people, I went on Thursday to get my packet, and they were so friendly and encouraging, and also really liked the salted caramel almond Kind bar they gave me, I will have to buy some now!

-Donna Palmer

Thank you! Great marathon, great organization. Really appreciated the water stations every 1.5 miles, the post run pizza  and the friendliness!
-Marc Dungler
Another great race! Marathons are always very, very difficult for me. I never see the ‘fun’ but I continue to look for the challenge. However this race is one with such generous time limits. Additionally you allow an early start which is increasingly rare to find. Plus it is so well run – smooth and problem free. I have ‘run’ this race many times (all but 1 or 2 times since its inception). I will continue to do so. Also my wife, Yong Beally, participates in the half marathon (multiple years) and likewise enjoys that race. We live in New Territory and consider this our ‘home’ race. We are proud of it and brag about it.

-Tim Beally

I want to take this time to share my positive thoughts about the race.  The course was very well organized.  The post race food was amazing.  This was my 4th marathon and the finisher medal certainly stands out compared to my other medals.  I had a wonderful experience and look forward to racing again next year.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your work and effort to put on such a great race/event. By far, this is the best race I’ve participated in, one if I’m ever in Texas again, I would TOTALLY do. There is something to say about the hospitality in Texas, I felt so welcomed by absolutely every body, yourselves and volunteers. It truly was an awesome race. The pace runner was amazing and I was able to hit a personal record.
-Chrysanthy Tiggas

I wanted to thank Dung Quach pacer for the 3:40 Marathon time and Trey Hamlett one of the race participants. I ran the half and tagged along with Dung. My goal was to achieve under 1:50. Dung kept me on pace especially the last few miles. I was struggling! Both Dung and Trey motivated me and were very encouraging. I met my goal and was 1st in AG. I really appreciated their support.

– Debbie Coles-Shilcock

Thanks for your above and beyond the call of duty hospitality and also for a great race.  The volunteers were amazing, the aid stations were fully stocked, the course well marked and the weather Fantastic. Thanks again!

-Larry Macon (This was his 1,244th Marathon)

Successfully completed 4th Marathon but first one in Sugar Land. Awesome event.

-Michael Davis

Thank you so much for a wonderful event. Everything was very well organized and all of the volunteers and spectators were awesome. My medal is even better than I thought it would be and our tech shirts are fantastic. It was definitely a great morning.

-Catalina Calderon

You did a world class job at hosting this event. We flew from California to do this. We were very impressed with how well run it was! And the weather you ordered was perfect too! Love my Texas medal!

-Susan Quan

I just wanted to say what a wonderful experience my daughter and I had in the VIP tent this year!  And, the massage was awesome.  Thank you for all the special extra touches. See you next year!
-Jennifer Spriggs
I enjoyed the marathon yesterday.  Thanks for having the early start and letting everyone finish.  I finished in 8:08 but know some were still on the course.   It is a honor to walk/run with the early risers that give it there all just to finish.    26.2 miles is a long way.  Thank the volunteers for all they do.

– Charlie Davis

This was my first half-marathon – thank you for making it an incredible experience and one I hope to repeat again!

– Jodie

Thank you for putting in such a great event! The course support was fist class!

– Petra Ligmond

Yesterday was wonderful. I started the early marathon at 4:30 and volunteers and signage helped everything run smoothly. I was thrilled to finish with a 6 1/2 hour time!!  Thank you again for a wonderful race day!

– Barbara Hansen

It was comforting for us first-time marathoners to have that extra time to finish. As a result, I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream. I will forever treasure my finisher medal, and it will serve as a reminder that anything is possible if you take it one step at a time.

Just had to tell you thank you thank you and thank you SO much for this amazing event. This event was by far the best race event that my family and I have ever attended. Here is why:

  • The people, like yourself and your magical helpers, all were so awesome.
  • The friendliest people and crowd. Again, y’all really made this wonderful, and the happy, positive energy of the crowd made my day and my race.
  • The location and course: best course and lovely area (since we don’t live in Sugar Land, it was just a joy to run around the area and site see)
  • The efficiency and organization of it all. Outstanding job!
  • The sponsorship: best food and vendors

What a great pleasure it was to be there. This is now our favorite race to attend as a family! My family members are not runners, but this inspired them to want to try the 5K next year, but only if it’s in Sugar Land!

Bravo, thank you, and God bless you and your whole crew!

What a fantastic marathon you and your team put on yesterday, and in spite of the less-than-ideal conditions!  It was so nice to meet you and the rest of the USA FIT marathon team.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful, including the participants.  True Texas hospitality on display!

Jeffrey Birkel

This was my tenth marathon.  I’ve run some big races: London, Chicago, and Boston.  This one will go down as one of my favorites and truly a memorable experience, in part due to my son Matt winning the race, thanks to you and all of the marathon staff.  We had such a good time visiting with our relatives in the area as I mentioned.  With 20 of us attending a pre-race pasta party the night before, it turned out to be a mini family reunion!  This was all possible for us thanks to your willingness to make an exception in the registration process for Matt and I. We can’t thank you enough!

What a wonderful experience for Matt in his first marathon and for me in my tenth.  We couldn’t have asked for anything better.  I will never forget the moment when I heard the announcer say as I was just coming to the finish line, “Here comes the father of our race winner.” What a memory.  A life experience that I will cherish forever.

Please pass on our sincere gratitude and a huge THANK YOU to all the organizers and volunteers of the USA FIT marathon.

Warmest Regards,

Jeffrey Birkel

Thank you for a wonderful running experience. “Everyone’s Marathon” is the best-kept secret in the Houston area! The volunteers were awesome, parking was easy, fast well-mapped out course, BEST after party around, very well organized, and GREAT sweatshirt. Thanks for all you do for the running community!

Lee Ann Andersen

This was my first full marathon and you helped make it happen! My experience Sunday was something I’ll remember forever. Crossing the finish line made all the practice runs, sweat and PAIN worthwhile!

It was a great feeling of accomplishment and the support and encouragement from members and volunteers was totally awesome!

Thanks again to everyone for the coaching, encouragement, and support!

Best regards,

Kelly Hewitt

I want to congratulate you and your committee for a wonderful event. Everything was so organized, the volunteers were extremely helpful and friendly. The course was well laid out. The food was delicious, and the variety was excellent. I loved the medals and the sweatshirts. In fact everything was great.

Thanks for all of the hard work, time and effort that you put into making this event so successful. It was appreciated by all.

Betty Moore

Thanks for a great race yesterday! USA FIT is now my new favorite local qualifier course!

I want to thank you, your assistants and all the volunteers at the start-finish line and on the course for a memorable marathon. I tore my left hamstring about a year ago, and this marathon was my first race.  Even though I carried my own water bottle, the water station volunteers offered words of encouragement. The police were super in controlling the traffic. The finisher medal and shirt are great! I’m working in Denver, so I will wear it at the gym and during my spring training runs.

Again, many thanks for providing an enjoyable event!

Bruce A. Mansur

You probably don’t remember me, but I was the runner who very early in the morning of the race (6 a.m.) came to you when I realized I forgot my chip.

I just wanted to thank you SO MUCH for your patience and for helping me with my situation. I got the new chip and bib and was taken care of in the most professional and friendly manner. If you remember, I was hoping to qualify to run New York in your race. I placed third in my age group and qualified!

You and all the volunteers put on a great race. I will definitely run it next year.

Thanks again for the countless hours of work, the great and friendly attitude, and for giving thousands of runners a fantastic venue to participate in their sport.
